ASSISTED LIVING AIDE

 

Full Time & Part Time - ALL Shifts!

 

 

Part of Harmon House, Skilled Nursing Facility is adjacent to Amber House, a licensed Personal Care Center, which includes 49 rooms and 6 suites.

Responsibilities

The center is currently seeking an Assisted Living Aide to provide personal and restorative nursing care and assists, as directed by onsite nurses. The aide will be responsible for providing high quality care for our geriatric residents and residents of varying ages, and must display patience, compassion and, above all, a deep commitment to maximizing clients’ well-being.

 

  • Assisting in daily living activities for residents/patients, in accordance with established procedures and nurse directives
  • Provides assistance with ADL’s as needed by
  • Assisting residents in keeping their personal spaces/rooms clean and organized
  • Storing, scheduling, distributing and assisting residents with self-administration of medications.
  • Aiding in additional procedures as requested, such as admitting, transferring, discharging, taking TPR/blood pressure, measuring/recording intake and output, collecting urine/stool specimens and administering enemas
  • Provides laundry services for resident and Village
  • Provides and/or assists with scheduled activities
  • Transporting residents to the dining hall, serving food trays and feeding, as needed
  • Observing residents for social, emotional and physical changes, and reporting findings to nursing staff
  • Ability to identify and respond to emergency situations in absence of supervision.
  • Answer resident call lights in a timely manner.

Qualifications

This is an entry level position with significant growth potential. All applicants have some prior resident care or related experience. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is also required, as are strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and the physical capacity to walk, stand and lift throughout the day.
