Kittanning Care Center, conveniently located off Route 422 three miles east of Kittanning Borough, is a 120-bed Skilled Nursing Center, including a 26-bed Center for the Memory Impaired, and Specialty Care in Wound Management.

This fast-growing center seeks a Cook to join its fast-paced dietary services unit. The Cook will assist in food and tray preparation, help with service and perform a number of kitchen/dining room tasks, as assigned.

• Preparing high quality, nutritious food, as directed by the daily production sheet
• Carving and portioning meat for service
• Serving hot foods on tray lines
• Checking special diet trays for accuracy
• Cleaning the kitchen, equipment and food service spaces, as instructed
• Ensuring minimal food waste, in both preparation, service and consumption
• Ensuring safe operation of kitchen and food service equipment
• Additional food service responsibilities, as assigned

This is an entry level position with significant growth potential. Candidates must be high school graduates or possess a GED equivalent, and have some prior experience in cooking/food service. Specific healthcare/geriatric care service is preferred, but not required. Vaccination from Covid-19 is a condition for hiring, except where a bona fide religious or medical exemption is submitted. Candidate must be able to provide driver's license or personal identification card at time of interview and must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
