UNIT CLERK

 

Full-Time - DAYLIGHT – Ebensburg, PA

 

Cambria Care Center is a 301-bed Skilled Nursing Center with a relaxing outside courtyard, dining hall, and activities room.  Our caring staff offers specialty care, rehabilitation therapies, ventilator care, bariatric care, on-site dialysis care and a center for memory impaired. We are dedicated to providing high-quality whole-patient care.

 

Our Center seeks a hardworking, organized Unit Clerk to join its outstanding team of diverse professionals. The Unit Clerk provides clerical/administrative support related for nursing teams, plus central supply and medical records.

Responsibilities

The Unit Clerk will report to the Director of Nursing or Nursing Supervisor, carrying out a number of important tasks including:

  • Verifying daily census reports
  • Maintaining/Updating unit lists and organizational tools, as needed
  • Maintaining all resident charts, including filing reports and preparing monthly recaps
  • Retrieving medical records for staff, as requested
  • Ensuring medical records are safe and protected, and that confidentiality it maintained at all times
  • Making lab, x-ray and testing appointments, as needed
  • Transcribing physicians’ orders accurately prior to RN review/signature
  • Reviewing transfer and discharge information to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Tracking records of staff physicals, and ensuring all documentations/visitations are completed in a timely manner
  • Notifying housekeeping of new admissions, and ensuring repairs are carried out ahead of arrival
  • Assisting members of the staff including the Medical Records Coordinator, nurses and administrative teams, as needed
  • Additional tasks, as assigned by the DON/Supervisor

Qualifications

All applicants should be organized, team-oriented and have a strong work ethic with excellent communication skills. Vaccination from covid-19 is a condition for hiring. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with at least one year of experience in a health care environment.
