LAUNDRY AIDE Needed for Healthcare Facility

Full Time- Monroeville, PA

Woodhaven is a 120-bed skilled nursing center. The care center is situated on 13.5 wooded acres in Monroeville, PA, the beautifully landscaped grounds include walking paths, decorative gardens and peaceful shaded lawns for Woodhaven’s residents, caregivers and families to enjoy, and includes a host of core services including dedicated restorative, activity and social services programs.

To support this mission and keep residents clean, comfortable and well cared for, Woodhaven Care Center seeks a Laundry Aide to carry out daily laundry functions.

• Retrieving, delivering, sorting and washing/drying all resident laundry
• Washing/drying garments and linens in a washing machine, and adjusting valves, temperatures and detergents at appropriate times
• Providing clean linens to residents, and ensuring all facility bedding/linens are stain-free
• Ensuring residents’ clothes are clean and in good condition at all times
• Keeping soiled linens covered and away from clean laundry/residents’ spaces
• Performing ongoing preventative maintenance checks on laundry equipment, and reporting any malfunctioning pieces promptly
• Maintaining the cleanliness of laundry work area and equipment
• Additional maintenance duties, as needed

This role reports to the Director of Housekeeping/Laundry.  All applicants must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions, and must display an understanding of commercial laundry processes, equipment and procedures, including washing, drying and ironing. A high school diploma or GED equivalent and previous laundry experience are preferred.
