STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Full Time Monday-Friday – Harrisburg, PA

Through its comprehensive onsite services including cardiac, orthopedic, wound and memory support, our center has come to revolutionize senior care,, helping its clients maximize their health, well-being and overall quality of life during these critical elder years.

 

At the center of our diverse nursing services unit is the RN Staff Developer, dedicated to employee orientation and nurse aide training. This requires strong practical nursing skills, management capacity and a deep desire to help both high needs residents and the team of nursing professionals who service them daily.

Responsibilities

  • Training nurse aides towards the successful completion of the Pennsylvania Certified Nurse Aide exam
  • Conducting general personnel orientations and nursing-specific trainings for new employees
  • Ensuring all pre-employment screenings are completed, including scheduled physicals and TB testing
  • Scheduling and recording required employee health issues, such as hepatitis B
  • Preparing and conducting in-service educational programs geared towards geriatric residents, and residents of various ages
  • Assisting with nursing department performance improvement duties and assumes responsibility for infection control activities
  • Function as a Nurse Supervisor if necessary

 

Qualifications

Applicants must be a Pennsylvania-licensed RN and have at least one year of experience in long-term patient/resident care. Previous nursing supervisory and/or training background as well as a state certified nurse aide training certification are required. Successful candidates will be expected to pursue self-development opportunities to remain current with professional nursing and management best practices.  Must have Case Management, Infection Control, and Nursing Education experience.
