Colonial Park Care Center is seeking a WOUND CARE RN for Hands-On Resident Care Work!

As a skilled nursing facility, wound and skin care are essential steps in ensuring residents are healthy, comfortable and functional. The Wound/Infection Care Nurse will manage wound/skin care personnel, and carry out a number of hands-on tasks for the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Administering treatments according to physicians’ orders/plans of care, as well as facility policies and procedures
  • Performing weekly measurements of all wounds, and documenting findings accurately
  • Assisting in all care planning related to skin/wound treatment, and planning/recommending appropriate interventions
  • Researching cause factors and making appropriate recommendations to other departments to improve consistent, cohesive quality of care surrounding pressure relief, positioning, nutrition, hydration and the use of splints
  • Informing families and external caregivers of treatments, and providing training as needed
  • Responding to/resolving emergencies in the absence of an RN
  • Additional skin/wound care services, as dictated by care plans and resident needs

Qualifications

The Wound/Infection Care Nurse must be able to analyze and assist with complex resident care, and should be comfortable investigating/resolving problems, initiating therapeutic approaches to wound care/prevention and make on-the-spot decisions to best support patient needs. All candidates must be licensed as an RN in Pennsylvania, with at least one year of experience in wound care treatment and prevention required.
