To support this growing community, Riverside seeks an entry level Staffing Coordinator to provide clerical support for all nursing functions.

The exciting role of Staffing Coordinator encompasses many diverse tasks and responsibilities, including:

• Prepares and distributes a monthly nurse schedule. Maintains and updates nursing schedule on a daily basis.
• Computes nursing care hours on a daily basis and submits a monthly report to the Director of Nursing and Administrator.
• Maintains nursing personnel attendance reports and submits a monthly report to the Director of Nursing denoting lost work time and overtime statistics.
• Maintains the nursing department’s roster.
• Determines availability and grants/refuses requests for holidays, vacations and personal days for nursing employees.
• Maintains confidentiality related to employee lost work time.
• Assures adequate staffing in the event of call-offs or other absences.
• Maintains an updated in-service attendance record of all nursing personnel.
• Verifies nursing work hours for payroll purposes.
• Updates physician and nursing license records.
• Follows established performance standards and performs duties according to nursing service policies and procedures.
• Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action.
• Participates in facility education programs, as assigned.
• Performs typing, clerical duties as requested by nursing department.
• Assumes accountability for compliance with Federal, State and local regulations within his/her area of responsibility.
• Reports and documents unusual incidents/problems according to facility procedures.
• Listens to resident/family concerns and takes appropriate corrective action; notifies supervisor.
• Complies with Infection Control and Standard Precaution procedures.
• Assures compliance with Resident’s Rights policies.
• Consistently works cooperatively with residents, staff, physicians, families, consultant personnel and ancillary service providers.
• Anticipates and takes action to maintain a safe environment. Incorporates safety/risk management standards into daily work practices. Uses all safety equipment provided appropriately. Reports faulty equipment/problems immediately.
• Reports any suspected or unusual resident abuse to Director of Nursing or Administrator immediately.
• Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.

Because of the nature of this role, candidates must have strong computer/office equipment skills as well as strong written and oral communication abilities. This is a fast-paced job, so the successful candidate must be able to work under pressure and thrive both independently and in a team setting. Experience using scheduling software as well as Excel, Word and Email required. Some experience in a healthcare environment, plus prior employee scheduling work is preferred. The successful candidate must possess strong people skills, time management, and the ability to multi task. A high school diploma or GED is required.
