Colonial Park Care Center is currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Developer - We are a 198-bed skilled nursing center and rehabilitation facility which includes a Center for the Memory Impaired.in Harrisburg, PA. The ideal candidate will have a nursing supervisory and/or training background as well as Case Management, Infection Control, and Nursing Education experience.

Responsibilities:

• Training nurse aides towards the successful completion of the Pennsylvania Certified Nurse Aide exam, maintains Education requirements of program
• Conducting general personnel orientations and nursing-specific trainings for new employees
• Actively seeks out to partner with and is liaison for local schools of training.
• Works closely with Infection Control Preventionist
• Ensuring all pre-employment screenings are completed, including scheduled physicals and TB testing
• Scheduling and recording required employee health issues, such as hepatitis B
• Preparing and conducting in-service educational programs geared towards geriatric residents, and residents of various ages, for all departments
• Functions as a Nurse Supervisor if necessary

Requirements:

• Valid RN License in PA
• Previous nursing supervisory and/or training background as well as a state certified nurse aide training certification are required
• A minimum of one year of experience in long-term patient/resident care
• Successful candidates will be expected and encouraged to pursue self-development opportunities to remain current with professional nursing and management best practices
• Must have Infection Control, and Nursing Education knowledge
• Candidates must pass criminal background check and drug screen
