DIETARY AIDE

Full Time - 11:30a to 7p

 

Entry level DIETARY AIDE sought to join fast paced food service team at HarmarVillage Care Center in Cheswick, PA

 

HarmarVillage Care Center is a comprehensive skilled nursing facility dedicated to providing high-quality whole-patient care. Through its comprehensive onsite services including cardiac, orthopedic, wound and memory support, HarmarVillage has come to revolutionize senior care in Allegheny County, helping its clients maximize their health, well-being and overall quality of life during these critical elder years.

 

This fast-growing center seeks a Dietary Aide to join its fast-paced dietary services unit. The Dietary Aide will assist in food and tray preparation, help with service and perform a number of kitchen/dining room tasks, as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in food/tray preparation, as directed
  • Serving food to residents based on specific menus
  • Checking tray lines to ensure proper labels, menu cards and operating cold food stations are in tact
  • Serving food in the dining room
  • Performing dish washing procedures on all meal trays, pots/pans, food service utensils and kitchen equipment
  • Preparing the dining room for meals
  • Preparing nourishments and positioning them in front of the nourishing station
  • Checking food requisition levels in each nursing unit, and replenishing them, as needed
  • Answering the unit telephone and directing calls, as needed
  • Assisting with food-related events and special functions, in the center and in the community
  • Filling in for the cook’s assistant on an as needed basis
  • Additional responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications

Previous food service experience, plus Sanitation or ServSafe certification is required for this role. Additionally, candidates must display a strong working knowledge of portion and cost control, nutrition, sanitation and food production, and should be able to apply math, units of measurement and existing knowledge of recipes, preparation, purchasing and safe storage to the day-to-day tasks associated. A high school diploma or equivalent and some training/management experience are preferred.  Vaccination from Covid-19 is a condition for hiring, except where a bona fide religious or medical exemption is submitted. Candidate must be able to provide driver's license or personal identification card at time of interview and must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
