Integrated care leader Grane Hospice Care, Inc. is expanding its core interdisciplinary teams, and seeks an experienced, established Director of Business Development to oversee a thriving department within the organization. This is a managing-level role reporting to the Regional Director of Business Development, and will be responsible for a host of tasks including human resource management, strategic planning, sales development, referral outreach and much more.   


Grane Hospice provides a higher level of hospice care through a low patient to nurse ratio, allowing for more care time whenever needed. Our mission is to provide premium comfort care to patients, families, and caregivers through an interdisciplinary team approach that understands, respects, and meets individual needs. All candidates should be team-oriented with topnotch managerial/supervisorial, conflict resolution, communication and interpersonal skills. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Managing Community Liaisons with the focus on driving new referrals/sales for Grane Hospice
  • Overseeing liaisons’ productivity and sales accomplishments, and supporting/incentivizing team members as needed
  • Ensuring liaisons are maximizing time and territories to deliver optimal referrals
  • Overseeing the operation of Grane’s Pampered Patient Program
  • Interviewing and hiring all business development staff, in conjunction with the Hospice Director
  • Participating in weekly management meetings, and providing ongoing updates surrounding liaisons’ success in the marketplace, future growth opportunities and new referral sources
  • Working with clinical and intake personnel for home health and hospice, as needed
  • Coordinating hospice contracts with skilled nursing facilities in the territory


Due to the nature of the Grane Hospice environment, candidates must also exhibit strong flexibility and compassion, with a willingness to work with third-party referral sources to deliver personalized continuity of care for patients. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in business, plus 3-5 years’ experience in direct sales/marketing with some work in a home/hospice care setting. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM.
