Active, compassionate PAMPERED PATIENT AIDE needed

Full Time - Blair & Centre Counties

Integrated care leader Grane Hospice Care, Inc. is expanding its core interdisciplinary teams, and seeks an active, lively and fun-loving Pampered Patient Aide to engage with patients on a social level. This is a unique role within Grane Hospice, and has been designed to maximize the socialization and general day-to-day enjoyment for patients and families. A positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills and a deep desire to help others is key to success in this position.

Grane Hospice provides a higher level of hospice care through a low patient to nurse ratio, allowing for more care time whenever needed. Our mission is to provide premium comfort care to patients, families, and caregivers through an interdisciplinary team approach that understands, respects, and meets individual needs. As an organization, we strive to provide our patients, families, and caregivers with the highest level of satisfaction through our strong clinical outcomes and innovative approach by maintaining our core values of devotion, honesty, dignity, and respect.

The Pampered Patient Aide will work directly with patients who have elected the pampered patient program, carrying out a variety of activities including:

  • Reading books, playing cards and board games and listening to music with patients
  • Crafting, sewing and other hands-on activities with patients/families
  • Preparing small meals and desserts, with patient participation
  • Planning events for patients, including birthday parties, holiday celebrations and more
  • Providing patient personal care services including manicures and basic hairdressing
  • Planning community events in conjunction with the business development/community liaison teams
  • Alerting families when pampered patient activities are requested
  • Communicating with community liaisons and RN Case Manager to ensure the best, most appropriate care is provided
  • Additional responsibilities as requested/assigned

There may be some weekend work required for this position, as well as travel to and from patients’ homes.

All candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation. Applicants are expected to be CPR certified and have a good working knowledge of hospice philosophy.
