Experienced Registered Dietitian sought for full time position in Long Term Care facility 

Full Time

 Riverside Care Center is a 120-bed Skilled Nursing Center offering Cardiac and Orthopedic Specialty Care, as well as providing a Dialysis Unit and a Center for the Memory Impaired on site. Located in Downtown McKeesport, one mile from McKeesport Hospital, Riverside provides both Skilled and Intermediate care.

This fast-growing center seeks an experienced Registered Dietitian to join its ranks.

The Dietitian oversees all nutrition and nutrition-related education throughout the center including:

• Assess nutritional needs of geriatric and physically impaired residents
• Develops therapeutic diets and “regular diets” to meet the specialized needs of geriatric and physically impaired residents
• Develops and implements continuing education programs for dietary services and nursing personnel
• Participates in interdisciplinary care planning
• Maintains confidentiality resident medical records, charts, files, or other documents pertaining to the resident
• Functions as a liaison with medical and nursing staff
• Complete nutritional assessment component of resident assessment and comprehensive care plan in conjunction with the food service director
• Provide resident counseling and guidance to the food service director and staff
• Approve menus
• Participates in development or revision of dietetic policies and procedures
• Plans and conducts in-services and educational programs
• Maintains in the facility documentation that is signed and dated at each visit
• Carries out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
• Reports suspected or known resident abuse to the Director of Nursing or Administrator immediately
• Participates in performance improvement activities as required
• Attends all mandatory in-services

Qualifications:

• Incorporates safety/risk management standards into daily work practice
• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Licensed by the Pennsylvania Licensing Board
• Minimum of one (1) year of long term care and/or senior living community experience preferred.
