Amber Terrace is a licensed Assisted Living Facility offering 34 furnished, beautifully decorated, private and semi-private rooms. Through its comprehensive onsite services, Amber Terrace has come to revolutionize senior care in Blair County, helping its clients maximize their health, well-being and overall quality of life during these critical elder years. Crucial to this whole-patient approach is the thriving activities department at Amber Terrace, under the leadership of the Director of Activities. This senior-level role supervises activities staff and volunteers, and will be responsible for steering the overall direction of the unit, in accordance with established standards and best practices.
Day-to-day responsibilities of the Activity Director include:
All candidates should be therapeutic recreation specialists or activities professionals, with appropriate licensing/credentialing and training and at least two years of experience across relevant social/recreation and healthcare environments. A strong working knowledge of basic computer use and software/programs is essential and, because of the nature of this community, a dedication to senior service, patience and compassion are essential.
