Overview

The Pharmacy Technician II position is a liaison between Grane Rx Pharmacy and our customers, working at the Grane Rx Pharmacy Resource Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania and reporting to the Operations Manager. Duties of this position include, but not limited to, medication cabinet, medication cart, IV pumps, HIPAA, and special projects and tasks.

 

This position works with Grane Rx team members and management in Pharmacy Operations, Consultant Pharmacists, Consultant Nurses, Billing, and Inventory. This position also works directly with our customers, including nursing staff, nursing management and supervisors, administrator, and providers.

Responsibilities

  • Medication cabinet duties; restocking, barcode scanning and removal of expired medications, training, cabinet reconfigurations, temperature alerts, connection issues, exports, pending items.
  • Medication cart maintenance.
  • HIPAA waste management.
  • IV Pump management.
  • Liaison for delivery tasks, inquiries, and concerns.
  • Performs duties related to focus area as assigned, and fully accountable to this area
  • Triages issues presented during shift to ensure the issues are resolved timely and communicated to the customer and to pharmacy team.
  • Immediately addresses any issues to support to ensure pharmacy technology is running as required.
  • Assist Operations Manager with tasks and projects supporting continuous improvement; with emphasis on pharmacy compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of changes in medication delivery systems to provide accurate and timely service to customers.
  • May participate as a fulfillment technician at West Chester location.
  • Enhances professional and technical knowledge through seminars and other resources.
  • Maintains consistent communication with Operations Manager regarding area specific initiatives and activities.
  • Initiative is demonstrated to proactively diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Perform light lifting or transporting of company assets.
  • Travel to other sites to provide support, as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma /GED required.
  • Prior experience in pharmacy, especially long term care,  is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer facing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Exhibits professional demeanor and ability to guide or train.
  • Exhibits strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exhibits excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a strong user support orientation.
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
