Temporary Position- Monroeville, PA

 

*This position is a Temporary job opportunity looking to transition this role into our Free CNA Training classes.

 

 

 Shifts: Full Time/Part Time

  • 1st Shift:  7:00AM - 3:00PM OR 7:00AM - 7:00PM
  • 2nd Shift:  3:00PM - 11:00PM 
  • 3rd Shift:  11:00PM - 7:00AM OR 7:00PM - 7:00AM

*TEMPORARY HAZARD PAY! The Governor’s hazard pay program is providing an extra $3 per hour boost over employees’ base rate for this position!*

Woodhaven Care Center is a 120-bed Skilled Nursing Center with a 30-bed Specialty Care Unit conveniently located in Monroeville just five minutes from the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

 

As our center continues to grow and evolve, we are currently seeking Resident Assistants & Nurse Aides to join our team to assist with the indirect care of residents, as directed by the nurse or supervisor. This position assists in maintaining the highest degree of quality care for geriatric residents and residents of various ages.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Resident Assistant & Nurse Aide include but not limited to:

  • Attends work according to facility policy.
  • Answers resident call bells in a timely manner, obtaining assistance as needed.
  • Makes beds and organizes resident’s room.
  • Distribution and set-up of meal trays. Compares diet trays with diet orders before serving. Removes trays after meal completion.
  • Assists with distribution of snacks.
  • Distributes ice and water pitchers.
  • Responds immediately to emergency situations according to policy.
  • Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with the State regulations and the residents/patients Bill of Rights.
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident information at all times.
  • Reports any allegation of resident abuse in any form to immediate supervisor.
  • Provides individualized nursing care to geriatric residents and residents of various ages according to resident care plan.
  • Provides general care to residents of all ages, including bathing and dressing. Assures residents are properly and comfortably clothed at all times. Administers shampoos and hair care, shaves residents, trims finger nails, assists resident with personal and dental hygiene. Makes beds and organizes resident’s room.
  • Communicates effectively with residents’ family members and members of the health care team.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, safe environment by cleaning equipment as directed, handling clean and soiled linen appropriately, reporting faulty equipment, and storing supplies on unit appropriately, etc.
  • Assists in preparation of unit, room for admissions/discharges.
  • Assists residents to and from bathrooms and provides assistance as necessary. Offers bedpans and urinals and assures incontinent residents are clean and dry, changing linens as needed. Encourages showers and other self-help measures and activities.
  • Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Resident Assistants and Nurse Aide candidates must have the ability to read and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Some clerical ability necessary. Must be a team player and able to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships with residents, families and co-workers. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent preferred. Prefer candidates with previous resident care or health care experience.
