    Exciting Pharmacy Fill Tech Position Available for Motivated and Focused Individual

     

    Full Time - West Chester, Pa 

     

    The Fulfillment Technician participates in the pharmacy department that is directed and staffed by qualified pharmacists.  This position prepares oral, liquid and solid medication in medi-dose cups, bingo cards, medication pouch packaging, or in unit-dose packaging. In some instances non-sterile compounding and other drugs can be prepared by the technician.  In addition, performs designated tasks regarding pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control and processing of supply and equipment orders.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

      • Preparation of oral solids, liquid medications in unit-dose packaging, pouches packaging, liquid dose cups, or punch cards.
      • Preparation of compound medications following proper procedures.
      • Assists in procuring pharmaceuticals and ancillary supplies for long-term care  residents in accordance with the dispensing order under the supervision of a pharmacist.
      • Proper packaging and labeling of products and subsequent storage prior to shipment to the patient.
      • Assists with daily, weekly and quality assurance activities.
      • Participates in the toting and delivery of resident orders with the pharmacist.
      • Maintain inventory shelves in a neat and orderly state.
      • Maintain inventory in Beacon System.
      • Participates in the development and achievement of continuous quality improvement.
      • Attends department meetings as required.
      • Promotes teamwork through cooperation and communication to attain company and departmental goals.
      • Flexible schedule compliance.
      • Performs other duties as necessary.

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

     

    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in pharmacy is preferred.
    • Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
    • Successful completion of a pharmacy training program is preferred. 
    • Specialization in the preparation of IV admixtures preferred.
    • Knowledge of basic drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, drug use and aseptic technique. 
    • Must possess computer knowledge skills.   
    • Must have good organizational skills and is able to work independently. 
    • Interpersonal skills required in dealing effectively and courteously with all customers.
