Innovative senior care center seeks hands-on Speech-Language Pathologist for in-center work

Full Time - West Chester, Pa

Industry-leading care provider Apex Rehabilitation Solutions seeks an experienced, Speech-Language Pathologist to join its fast-growing team of therapeutic professionals. The Speech-Language Pathologist is an essential role within the center, working hand-in-hand with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement the highest possible levels of personalized care for residents/clients.

Apex Rehabilitation Solutions is a full service provider of rehabilitation therapy and management services in skilled, long-term, outpatient, and in-home care environments. Highly skilled and experienced physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapists work together to ensure that patients return to the highest possible level of function.

The mission of Apex Rehabilitation Solutions is to promote health and wellness for residents. They provide preventative and restorative health services to improve the quality of life of all they serve. They strive to accomplish this mission through the fundamental core values of integrity, dignity, respect, and fun.

This position directly oversees all aspects of speech and language pathology for Apex, including assessment, treatment planning, implementation and ongoing review, so strong professional competency is essential. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Screening new clients/residents, evaluating and interpreting data and determining relevant treatment plans
  • Setting integrated goals in conjunction with interdisciplinary team members, then documenting progress and successes
  • Reevaluating care plans based on new and emergent conditions, as well as resident progress
  • Responding to individualized requests and making referrals, as needed
  • Developing in-home therapies and training family or caregivers, as needed
  • Overseeing SLP assistants and serving as a Clinical Instructor for affiliates/students

Because of the nature of Apex’s multidisciplinary approach, all candidates must be able to thrive in team environments. Experience working with a geriatric population is required, as is an active state license and Certificate of Clinical Competence from an American Speech Language/Hearing Association-approved institution. A valid driver’s license is also required, as some local travel is needed in this role.
