CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE (CNA) sought for innovative eldercare facility
Full Time and Part Time- 2nd Shift Available
Altoona Center for Nursing Care — conveniently located in Downtown Altoona — is a 120-bed Skilled Nursing Center. The first floor houses a Rehabilitation Unit, complete with physical, occupational, and speech-language therapies. The Center for Nursing Care has about 140 attending physicians, who are credentialed following guidelines for long-term care. Another 20 consulting physicians are available. We employ two case managers, a director of nursing, and an assistant director of nursing.
The center is currently seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - for full time or part time for 2nd shift - to provide personal and restorative nursing care and assists, as directed by onsite nurses. The aide will be responsible for providing high quality care for the center’s geriatric residents and residents of varying ages, and must display patience, compassion and, above all, a deep commitment to maximizing clients’ well-being.

This is an entry level position with significant growth potential. All applicants must possess current nurse aide certification or the completion of a nurse aide training program, and have some prior resident care or related experience. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is also required, as are strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and the physical capacity to walk, stand and lift throughout the day.
